Prayer Flags

The Tibetan word for a horizontal prayer flag is Lung ta, which translates literally as "wind horse." The prayers of a flag become a permanent part of the universe as the images fade from wind and sun. Tibetans renew their hopes for the world by continually mounting new flags alongside the old.  For 2014 the following dates are inauspiscious to hang flags:

February 12, 24, Losar (Tibetan New Years) March 2, 2014, March: 20, April: 3, 16, 27, May: 3, 15, 26, 29, 31, June: 13, July: 7, 18, August: 3, 14, 29, September: 21, October: 6, 18, November: 2, 13, 28, 30, December: 25, January (2015): 6, 18, 21, February: 1, 14, Losar (Tibetan New Years): February 19, 2015
