Pumtek Heirloom Bracelet

  |

PAIR IT WITH

Buried Thunderbolt of Enlightenment
  • The word Pumtek means, "buried thunderbolt" and these Pumtek beads are among the rarest and most sought after collectable beads in the world.
  • Pumtek beads are made of opalized wood, a material that is indigenous to Burma where the beads originated.  Opalized wood occurs when wood is fossilized and turned into stone, making these beads extremely unique.
  • These bracelets feature a vintage Pumtek bead in either a long or round shape, paired perfectly with brass spacers from Thailand and earthy green Jasper.

On a trip to Nepal in the early 2000's, DharmaShop founder, Sander Cohen, was able to source a handful of incredible heirloom-style Pumtek necklaces made using these vintage fossilized wood beads from Burma.  These necklaces were modeled after the prized ancient heirloom necklaces worn by the Chin people thousands of years ago.

Ancient beads like this would be priceless, and in the last decade even the vintage and antique Pumtek beads have become incredibly hard to source.  We were so excited to find that Sander still had two of these amazing necklaces in his personal collection from which we were able to make a small batch of exclusive bracelets.

Each bracelet is hand strung at our shop with one of these highly collectible and rare vintage Pumtek beads.  We have both the longer tubular style bead and round Pyu style beads available.  Each bead is entirely one-of-a-kind with its own unique design and details.

Green Jasper is a holistic stone used by reiki practitioners.  It is believed to awaken its holders to a sense of joy and remind them of their free spirit.  Like all jasper, this bracelet carries a strong connection to the earth's energy and therefore is great for grounding and stability.

Size:

Bracelets measure approximately 6.5 inches around on stretchy cord.

Long Pumtek beads are about 1.25-1.5 inches long.  Round Pumtek beads are 12-14mm.

Jasper beads are 6mm.
