Handmade in the shadow of the Boudanath Stupa by my friend Dipendra. There is no greater joy then to sit and drink a cup of sweetened Nepali tea and watch the pilgrims walk clockwise around the great stupa. This simple mala is a staple at Dipendra's shop in Boudhanath. 108 8mm seed beads with 3 pressed turquoise spacers.
28 inches around, 8mm beads

Got this two years ago and gave mine away recently. Missed it, for it is nice to wear - not ostentatious, but "simply" attractive. For wearing, the favorite among many malas I have used over the last 20 years.

This mala is perfect for my meditation practice. I really enjoy holding it in my hand. It's just a bit short for something I would wear. It has definitely won a place in my prayer space.

This mala is perfect to wear on my wrist or neck. It is light weight and easily reminds me to stay balanced and centered.

I love this, everything about it is beautiful. The turquoise accents are wonderful, and the piece as a whole looks earthy and warm. Thank you so very much!

Had two larger Bodhi malas for in-home. Wanted a Raktu and smaller mala to wear around the neck and for during the day away. Glad I chose this one! On first use felt powerful, calming energy in the Heart that must be associated with the loving hands that created it. Again, never disappointed with anything I have purchased from Dharma Shop... Thank You.

For years I've used the old "monk's mala" and loved it dearly, but passed it on to a friend in the hospital. My son bought me this mala. It is the most delicate and beautiful mala, a butterfly of a mala. It is lightweight, and strong, and beautifully made, but what I really love about it is the feeling of lightness and joy it brought with it. I miss my old "warhorse", but this is a wonderful mala. Will be getting two for my grandkids, perfect size and so well made. Refined, joyous, beautiful.

I just love this mala! I like the fact that the Raktu seeds are a renewable source, and I really like their texture. I can feel them well on my fingers, the amount of texture makes them slip proof and yet doesn't overwhelm me like some seeds can. The turquoise spacer add beauty and contrast while not being gaudy. I can't think of anything that would make this a better mala!
