12 Inch Tibetan Dragon Singing Bowl

  |

Our new etched Tibetan singing bowl is incredibly detailed, and was hand picked in Kathmandu from a stunning collection of intricately carved singing bowls.  It is cast, hammered, polished, and etched entirely by hand.

The inside base of the bowl features an image of a dragon with the repeated mantra of compassion in Tibetan script, Om Mani Padme Hum, decorating the inside rim.  Tibetan dragons are protectors of Buddhism whose thunderous voices awaken us from delusion.

The outside of the bowl depicts the 8 Auspicious Symbols.  In Buddhist legend, the 8 symbols represent offerings the gods made to the Buddha after his enlightenment.  It is believed that each of these symbols have powers to bring blessings for which people include these in paintings, textiles, homes, and wherever else possible.

The bottom of the bowl features an Eternal Knot design, which represents the connection between one’s spiritual path, the movement of time, and the omnipresent Buddha self.  It is one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols.

Bowl measures approximately 12 inches in diameter and is about 5 inches deep.  Handmade in Nepal.

All sound recordings are made by striking the bowl once with our Handcrafted Red Wool Mallet!
