Naga Shell Om Mani Mala

There are many styles and sizes of naga shell beads available in Kathmandu and they all come from Nagaland.  This amazing 108 bead mala is made with very special naga shell beads that are individually hand knotted and finished with a red tassel.  It also features 3 carnelian marker beads with the mantra of compassion, Om Mani Padme Hum, in Tibetan script.

The naga/conch shell represents the fame of the Buddha's teaching which spreads in all directions like the sound of the conch trumpet.  It is a symbol which fearlessly proclaims the truth of the dharma.

Mala measures approximately 42 inches around.  Beads are 8mm.  Tassel is about 4 inches.  Made in Nepal.
