One-of-a-kind, antique Tibetan bodhi seed mala purchased directly from a Boudhanath in Nepal. It has been a part of the DharmaShop's personal collection for years. These small, well used, wood bodhi seeds are truly stunning; each bead is unique with slightly flattened ends, rich color, and beautiful sheen.
Bodhi seed beads can be used for counting all types of mantras, as well as other prayers, prostrations, circumambulations, and so forth. It was while meditating under a bodhi tree that Prince Siddhartha attained enlightenment and became the Buddha. The dark-speckled seeds from this fig tree thus have special meaning for all seekers of divine wisdom. "Bodhi" in Sanskrit means enlightenment; as an "enlightened" seed many practitioners use these malas for their essence and inherent teachings within each seed.
Seeds are approximately 12-13mm with a 15mm guru bead. Measures approximately 40 inches around.
