This monk's mala is made of small, dark phoenix eye bodhi seed beads that have been cut on each end and polished, making them flat in the traditional manner. Mala includes naga shell, green howlite, and red copal spacers with a rudraksha guru bead. It features traditional, antique-style, Tibetan bell and dorje mala counters that are hand strung on leather. Perfect monk's mala for everyday meditation. Because each necklace is handcrafted, beads may vary slightly in shape or color.
Bodhi seed beads can be used for counting all types of mantras as well as other prayers. These dark-speckled seed beads have special meaning for all seekers of divine wisdom. "Bodhi" in Sanskrit means enlightenment; as an "enlightened" seed, many practitioners use these malas for their essence and inherent teachings within each seed.
Mala measures approximately 36 inches around. Bodhi beads, green howlite, and red copal spacers are about 10mm. Naga bead is 11mm, rudraksha guru bead is 18mm. Made in Nepal.
