Antique Longevity Dzi Bead - Light Agate

• From the DharmaShop curated collection, this rare antique Longevity Dzi is smaller in size yet striking in appearanace. Its pale agate body, filled with white and soft neutral tones against the darker agate areas, gives it a rare quality that stands apart from traditional darker Dzi beads commonly seen.

For over 20 years, DharmaShop founder Sander Cohen has collected Dzi beads during his travels. This Longevity Dzi once belonged to an antique necklace of rare beads kept in his personal collection for nearly a decade, and in the last few years he decided to remove a few of his favorite beads to share with the DharmaShop community.

Your bead shows fine agate banding, surface wear, and some small chips that reflect its long life of use. In Tibetan tradition, such marks are considered auspicious — a sign of authenticity and history, as fragments of beads were sometimes used in traditional medicine.
