Kalachakra Thangka with Brocade

  |

This exquisite and one-of-a-kind Tibetan thangka is hand painted by master artists in the Kathmandu Valley.  Thangka painting schools in Nepal help to keep Tibetan traditions alive.  This framed painting is the perfect addition to your home, meditation area, or altar space.

Thangka depicts a beautifully detailed Kalachakra mandala design and comes framed in a multi-colored traditional Tibetan brocade.  The painting is done by hand on cotton canvas using natural mineral and vegetable pigments with 24K gold details.  The complicated designs, intricate brushstrokes, and extraordinary detail make these thangkas genuine works of art.

In Buddhism, the Kalachakra tradition revolves around the concept of time (kala) and cycles (chakra): from the cycles of the planets, to the cycles of human breathing, it teaches the practice of working with the most subtle energies within ones body on the path to enlightenment.

Measures approximately 77 centimeters tall, 47 centimeters wide in the middle, and 56 centimeters wide at the bottom.  Painting measures about 25x25 centimeters.
