Himalayan Stoneware Matcha Set

• A custom matcha set handcrafted in Bhaktapur, Nepal by the same family-operated ceramic artisans behind our Himalayan Stoneware Mugs. The set includes a hand-thrown matcha bowl and matching whisk holder, finished in our new Marigold glaze with a speckled finish.
• Designed specifically for the ritual of making matcha. The bowl measures approximately 5" wide and 3.5" deep, giving you plenty of room to whisk comfortably, while the built-in spout makes pouring smooth and easy.
• Made to be beautiful, functional, and easy to live with. The matching whisk holder helps keep your whisk in shape between uses and nests neatly inside the bowl for easy storage.

We'll admit it: this one was created a little selfishly. After our Himalayan Stoneware Mug became a customer favorite, we added a Pour-Over Dripper for the coffee lovers. As DharmaShop's product manager and photographer — and a serious matcha fan — I started thinking, what about my matcha people?

I love the ritual of making matcha almost as much as I love drinking it: measuring it out, whisking it slowly, watching the texture change, and taking a few quiet minutes before the day really gets moving. So I went straight to our ceramic artisans in Nepal and asked if we could create a set of our own.

Every bowl is thrown by hand from locally sourced red clay using traditional pottery techniques and finished in the same warm Marigold glaze and subtle bubble design as the matching mug. The artisans used their traditional Soot and Stone glazes to add delicate white and black speckles across the entire surface, giving each piece extra visual texture and emphasizing the handmade nature of the pottery.

Finished with our DharmaShop stamp on the bottom — a small reminder of the collaboration, care, skill, and artistry behind every part of the process that brought this clay to life.

I've been making matcha in the sample ever since it arrived, and I'm very excited to finally share it with everyone else in our DharmaShop community!

Color:

Marigold is a warm, muted golden-yellow glaze inspired by the marigold flowers found throughout Nepal, with delicate Stone and Soot speckles scattered across the entire mug, including its natural Himalayan clay base.

Care:

Made with lead-free, non-toxic glaze. Food, microwave, and dishwasher safe. We recommend hand-washing to extend the life of your pottery.

Size:

Bowl is ~5" wide and ~3.5" deep. Whisk holder is ~2.25" wide at the base, ~1.5" wide at the top, and ~2.5" tall.
