Yoga and Meditation Singing Bowl

  |
  • An amazing Tibetan singing bowl with contrasting finish and unique etched details.  It shows and sings beautifully!
  • Handcrafted in Kathmandu, this collection has been hammered, polished, and etched entirely by hand.
  • Once the bowls are crafted, a traditional Tibetan thangka painter etches the special designs into each bowl.

A serene meditating Buddha is prominently featured inside of the bowl using the teaching mudra, also known as the vitarka mudra.  The thumb and index finger touch each other, forming a circle that represents a constant flow of energy.  This mudra symbolizes the discussion and transmission of Buddha's teachings.

The mantra of compassion, Om Mani Padme Hum, written in Tibetan script, decorates the outside of the bowl.  This mantra invokes the powerful benevolent attention and blessings of Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion.

An Eternal Knot symbol grounds the base of the bowl.  The Endless, or Eternal Knot has special meaning throughout many cultures and can serve as a reminder of interconnectedness and unity.  It is one of the 8 Auspicious Symbols that represents the intertwining of wisdom and compassion.

Bowl rings at about a D note when struck with a woolen mallet.  This note resonates with the Sacral Chakra.  This energy is the center for creating relationships of all kinds.  It is where we develop an inward sense of self and an outward awareness of others.  Because each bowl is handmade, the note may vary slightly from bowl to bowl.

Bowl measures approximately 8 inches in diameter and is about 3.75 inches deep.  Comes with a wooden striker.  Cushion sold separately.

Sounds great and recorded with our Handcrafted Red Wool Mallet!
