Traditional Bodhi Mala

32   |

Many customers have asked for a traditional Tibetan mala design with smaller bodhi seed beads, so our artisans put together this mala just for you!  It features fine quality 14mm bodhi beads that have been cut on each end, making them flat in the traditional manner.  Simply strung on a red cord and finished with a guru bead.

Bodhi seed beads can be used for counting all types of mantras as well as other prayers.  These dark-speckled seed beads have special meaning for all seekers of divine wisdom.  "Bodhi" in Sanskrit means enlightenment; as an "enlightened" seed, many practitioners use these malas for their essence and inherent teachings within each seed.

Size:108 12-14mm flat beads, approximately 36 inch total circumference.  Size may vary slightly due to the style of beads.  Handmade in Nepal.

Awesome Bodhi Mala

The rounded bodhi seeds feel amazing, and the large bodhi seeds are wonderful for my fingers. Affordable too.

Exquisite craftmanship. Excellent customer service.

Beautiful and functional. Bodhi-malas are unfortunately way over-priced compared to those handcrafted from other plain materials of wood or seed, much due to high demand in China. But I did think it was worth it, not least because of the unique style of this product and the symbolical value of bodhi seed. But the price is also acceptable as an act of support for the surviving practitioners of the traditional arts and crafts, so many branches of which regrettably have been driven to extinction by the all-devouring monster of a globalized modern industrial system. Homage to the Lord Buddha, the conqueror, teacher of gods and men.

I did not have a Mala nor did I feel I needed one and then I saw this one and knew it was to be mine. When I unwrapped it, it seemed to come alive. After cleansing with sage and gently running the seeds through my hands it became mine to not only focus purpose but it reminds me who I am. Sound crazy? Try it. Thank you Dharma Shop!
