  • Handmade by master artisans, this Tibetan singing bowl was carefully selected in Kathmandu from an absolutely stunning collection of carved bowls.
  • Each bowl requires an incredible amount of time and skill to create, therefore this style is limited.  Every piece is hand hammered and polished before being etched with extraordinary detail.
  • Inside features an intricate Medicine Buddha design with mantra surrounding, along with beautiful swirls of repeated Medicine Buddha mantras and Eternal Knot symbols.  The mantra of compassion, Om Mani Padme Hum, wraps around the outside and a unique sacred geometry design grounds the base of the bowl.

The Medicine Buddha is a deity of compassion and healing.  He is believed to alleviate suffering for mental and physical illness.  The mantra reads, "Om Bekandze Bekandze, Maha Bekandze, Radza Samudgate Soha."  This translates to, "May the many sentient beings who are sick, quickly be freed from sickness.  And may all the sicknesses of beings never arise again."

Om Mani Padme Hum, the compassion mantra, invokes the powerful benevolent attention and blessings of Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion.  It decorates the outside of the bowl and is separated by dorje designs, an emblem of protection.

The base of the bowl displays a geometrical design based on the principles of sacred geometry.  These designs are often used for meditation to connect on a deeper spiritual level.

Bowl rings at about a B note when struck with a woolen mallet.  This note resonates with the Crown Chakra, which is the center for trust, devotion, inspiration, happiness, and positivity.  This chakra allows access to the upmost clarity and enlightened wisdom.  Because each bowl is handmade, the note may vary slightly from bowl to bowl.

Measures approximately 9.75 inches in diameter and is about 4.5 inches deep.  Cushion sold separately.

Sounds great and recorded with ouHandcrafted Red Wool Mallet!

Exquisite Medicine Buddha Singing Bowl

I am beyond delighted with this exquisite Medicine Buddha Singing Bowl. I had not realized the intricacy of the etched mantras and beautiful Medicine Buddha image that are on the inside of this precious artifact. The tones of this bowl are equally exquisite. Thank you for your careful and thoughtful packing and very prompt shipping.

This singing bowl is majestic. This is a nice and big bowl with a beautiful tone and generous sustain. I have the standard mallet, and the red wool mallet also. If you tap it with the wool mallet the low hum sings for quite a long while. The standard mallet pings a slightly higher tone which is refreshing. When vibrating the bowl with the standard mallet you get the low resonant hum that is so lovely (it's really nice to have the two different mallets that bring out the different tonal qualities). The bowl is so beautiful and is a nice centrepiece and reminder for practice. This is the most beautiful sacred tool I've ever seen. I feel so lucky to be able to have this in my home. Thank you Dharma Shop!
