At first I didn't know how to use it without it causing my small singing bowl and cushion to slide on the table . I found I could get the beautiful deep sound by holding my bowl down with my finger in the center of the bowl. (That just didn't feel like the right thing to do!) But after reading the reviews, I followed the lead of another reviewer who says he holds the bowl in his hand. Not only does it sound wonderful, I can feel the vibration in the palm of my hand.
Could not be happier! The red wool mallet is very nicely crafted and produces a lovely soft tone when used to strike on the singing bowls that I care for.
At first I did not know how to use this, it seemed difficult with my small size bowl. I learned pretty quickly how to be able to strike the bowl in my hand to get a beautiful rich sound. I do prefer it myself to the cloth wrapped wood mallet, but that has its own expression. This is all a learning experience!
I have the mallet that came with my singing bowl and I also purchased the wool mallet because I wanted to access different tones from my singing bowl. The wool mallet definitely gives sounds and tones that touch a deep part of my body. It’s a beautiful and weighty sound.
