This gorgeous, one-of-a-kind necklace is handmade from water buffalo horn. It features several polished disk-shaped pieces of horn connected by hand carved bone links. Each disk is entirely unique with various colors and patterns.
A note about bone/horn jewelry: In the Himalayas, it is typical for large animals such as yak or water buffalo to be used for service and then harvested for food, clothing, utensils, and ritual items. Given the limited amount of resources and the religious practices of the people in the region, it is important that none of the animal goes to waste. This amazing horn necklace is handmade by artisans who recycle and reuse everything in daily life and spiritual practice.
Necklace measures approximately 40 inches around. Horn disks are about 1 1/2 inches.
