White Bone Mala with Counters

1 review   |

A great mala for practice, it features 108 disc-shaped bone beads plus two bone counters. A very traditional Tibetan design.  Mala can not be worn as jewelry, but is perfect for meditation practice and counting mantras.

A note about bone beads:  Tibetan nomadic life is hard, and in the cold there is little to eat.  Water buffalo is a main staple in Nepal and Tibet and when an animal is used for food nothing is wasted.  These amazing bone beads are hand inlaid by artisans who recycle and reuse everything in daily life and spiritual practice.

Mala mesaures approximately 18 inches around.  Will not fit around neck or wrist.  Beads are 14mm by 4mm.  Handmade in Nepal.

    Gorgeous White Bone Mala!!

I've had a bone mala for years, but not like this one! It's a light toast colour & the beads are round. I was very excited to see this one, with the counters & the disc shaped beads!! It will not fit around your wrist or over your head, unless you are a small child, but I don't mind that. I carry it in a little bag in my satchel, so that i have a small mala with me for when I'm waiting places. It's perfect to just pop it out & use it to calm myself at the doctor's office, or where ever!!! It's one of my favourites!
