Auspicious Symbols Wall Art

  • Bring the crafts of the Himalayas into your home with this handmade Tibetan wall hanging!
  • Made in Kathmandu, this stylish hanging wall art features the Eight Auspicious Symbols painted on eco-friendly lokta paper with gold accents.
  • Mounted between natural wooden dowels, this is an excellent piece of home decor for your sacred space.

In Buddhist legend, the 8 symbols represent offerings the gods made to the Buddha after his enlightenment.  It is believed that each of these symbols have powers to bring blessings for which people include these in paintings, textiles, homes, and wherever else possible.

Lokta paper is made entirely by a local women's co-operative community in Kathmandu involved in the ecological treatment and preservation of the forest.  This form of paper production is both sustainable and eco-friendly, as the harvesting of lokta bark, the primary ingredient of the process, does not effect growth or survival of the tree.

Measures approximately 18 inches tall and 6.25 inches wide from dowel to dowel.
