Beautiful Set of 5 Spinning Prayer Wheels

2 reviews   |

Hundreds of hand carved prayer wheels can be seen all over Nepal.  From Buddhist centers and temples, to monasteries and stupas, prayer wheels are turned clockwise to release prayers and mantras into the heavens.  This decorated temple style prayer wheel features 5 wheels in 1 setting.  The setting includes dorje designs and coral accents with two sitting deer.

The outside of the wheels include the mantra of compassion, Om Mani Padme Hum, written in Sanskrit script.  This mantra invokes the powerful benevolent attention and blessings of Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion.  Inside the prayer wheels are scrolls containing this mantra and prayers which multiply with each turn.

Spin the wheels clockwise whenever you feel the need to improve your karma.  We hope it brings you continuous good wishes and joy!

Measures approximately 13 inches long, 3 inches wide, and is about 6 inches tall.  Handmade by craftspeople in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Beautiful hardly begins to describe how wonderful this handmade piece is. Truly exquisite, and the spinning wheels move with such ease. Each Sanskrit script is so intricate in detail, the time taken and care in the making is evident when gently passing hand over each wheel. One can feel the blessings of prayers released upon each turn. Very personal and intimate feeling, one of joy which should be shared.

    5 Beautiful wheels a'spinnin'!

This is a lovely item to have. Built well enough to have the spinning prayer wheels work very effectively. I have the feeling that if one would know the Tibetan/Nepalese language, you could bring even more understanding to the wheels - so that where they stop spinning they could be read. However, even without this it is great to spin around one's karmic position. Very glad to have this set.
