I enjoy burning this, it's not too heavy, and is a relaxing scent. The sticks are about 6", perfect for my smaller burners.
Best incense in the world
I have several favorites here, especially Dalai Lama and Pharahampsa. Not cloying or sweet, like some cheaper stuff. Get the handrolled Tibetan sticks made by nuns and monks in Nepal or Tibet. The least we can do to help. Earthquake victims are still homeless in many places. Good meditations.
My old favorite has changed - not the same wonderful incense anymore
I recently purchased a supply of 4 boxes of this incense as it's one of my favorites, only to discover to my great disappointment, that it is nothing like what I bought before. I noticed immediately that the packaging is different - the box and sticks are now 5"+ (unfortunately size does not make up for the lacking recipe), and the lettering type style is different. The fragrance is nothing like the previous; it's very weak and for me terribly lacking compared to the wonderfully complex, tangy, earthy aromas I had so enjoyed before. I also purchased a new supply of some others, including my other favorite, Wheel of Dharma, and found (thankfully) they were the same as before, 4" box and sticks, same fragrances. I don't know why the change in the Dalai Lama incense, and while it's not bad per se, it's just not the same.
While I normally prefer a more mild Japanese Temple incense, the Dalai Lama Incense, while a bit more heavy, has a wonderful aroma, and serves as a very pleasant house/daily incense. I burn it while working to help remind me of the need for mindfulness and to be present and compassionate in my endeavors.Personally, I use half a stick at a time, and find it to be refreshing, clean and distinctively aromatic.A wonderful incense at a great price.
Definitely earthy in its undertones. Very moving to practice with. It's not the heaviest Tibetan or Nepalese style incense, but if you're looking for mild scent you might look elsewhere. I love it, personally. Beautiful lotka paper box, too.
