Etched Om Mani Singing Bowl

  |
  • This two-toned etched Tibetan singing bowl is incredibly detailed and was hand picked in Kathmandu from a stunning collection of intricately carved singing bowls.
  • It is cast, hammered, polished, and etched entirely by hand.  This process takes a considerable amount of time and skill to master.
  • This bowl features the mantra of compassion, Om Mani Padme Hum, written in Tibetan script with a beautiful lotus flower design on the bottom.

The inside base of the bowl is decorated with the compassion mantra in beautifully detailed lotus petals.  This mantra invokes the powerful benevolent attention and blessings of Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion.

On the bottom of the bowl is an etched lotus flower design.  The lotus flower, growing out of and setting atop muddy waters, is a symbol of purity, wisdom, compassion and healing throughout many cultures.

Along the outside rim, you will see this mantra again separated by abstract style double dorje designs.  This is considered an emblem of protection and represents that which cannot be destroyed, but which destroys all evil.

Bowl rings at a D# note when struck with a woolen mallet.  This note resonates with the Sacral Chakra.  This energy is the center for creating relationships of all kinds.  It is where we develop an inward sense of self and an outward awareness of others.

Measures approximately 8 inches in diameter and is about 4 inches deep. Cushion sold separately.

All sound recordings are made by striking the bowl once with our Handcrafted Red Wool Mallet!
