This beautiful hand embroidered wall hanging contains an image of the conch shell. The conch shell has deep and complex meaning among Buddhist and Hindu culture. The natural shell, when held to one's ear, is said to make the sound of Om, the sound of the universe. The spiraling shape is known globally as significant in all of nature and spirituality. Buddhists have used the spiral for contemplating creation and the cycle of birth and death. It has been studied, written about, and meditated on for centuries.
