Set of 4 Katas

2   |

This set of 4 katas is white in color with traditional soft frayed edges.  Features the Eight Auspicious Symbols.

No Tibetan custom is as well known as the offering of a kata or white scarf in greeting.  The kata is an auspicious symbol.  It lends a positive note to the start of any enterprise or relationship and indicates the good intentions of the person offering it.  Katas are offered to religious images, such as statues of the Buddha, and to lamas and government.  The offering of the kata indicates that the request is not marred by corrupt thoughts or ulterior motives.

Measures approximately 5 feet in length.  Set of 4.  Made of polyester.

Perfect for my needs

I had been looking for Katas that were not too pricey to use as a symbolic gesture when initiating my Reiki Masters. I love that they have the auspicious symbols on them. So this fit the bill perfectly for me - they are beautiful, albeit flimsy, but exactly what I wanted and expected. If you are looking for one to wear for ongoing ritual use you might want to consider one of the others that DharmaShop sells which are a bit more "sturdy".

Katas to go

Very nice set of four. Individualy wrapped. Not as nice as silk ones but good and very affordable. Good value.
