Handmade in the shadow of the great stupa at Boudhanath. These bone malas are a constant reminder of the impermanence of all living things.
The bone beads are made from water buffalo. In the Himalayas, it is typical for large animals such as yak and water buffalo to be used for service and then slaughtered for food, clothing, utensils, and ritual items. Given the limited resources and religious practices in the region, no part of the animal goes to waste.
Fits all wrists 7 inches to 10 inches using the sliding knot design.
